DON'T LET THE LIGHT SHINE IN/ bimmian m3 KMH gauge upgrade

Ever since my new family addition, I have had big plans for her. There's nothing like watching your little girl grow up, seeing her reach her full potential and becoming everything that she can be! I always knew that having her in my life was meant to be...a symbiotic relationship between me and one of the best pieces of automotive machinery to come out of Munich...the BMW e46. As perfect as this car is I just have one problem...at night it just drives me crazy to see that amber light bleeding through my gauges. I know I'm not alone, because everyone who posts a picture online of the e46 gauges at night turns the brightness down so only the numbers are illuminated. So I said, "Enough, I can't take this anymore!" I decided to upgrade and rid myself of that bloody amber glow once and for all.

I know that the mad scientists at BMW chose the amber because it was scientifically  proven to be the easiest on the eyes at night, but does the entire gauge need to be amber? I scoured the internet researching the vast forum write-ups of changing the color buy replacing the LED lighting...but, if I were to change the color of the gauges I would have to change all the colors of every dash piece that lights up in the car. At that very thought it wasn't the color that bothered me it was the thin piece of plastic that allowed that amber light to shine through and this brings me to my final decision.  I bring you these pictures of my new gauges courtesy of Bimmian.com.

...did you notice the gauge rings too?! ...and yes, I opted not to do the red Sharpie mod.

Next upgrade...Dynavin, here I come!

SEEING YELLOW/bmw e46

I'm not one to leave my car stock...and I'm not one that can relate to anyone who does. Sure, I can say to each their own, but just like walking into a room with someone wearing the same outfit as you...don't you just feel weird pulling up next to someone at a light and seeing their car looks exactly like yours.

I could talk about modding all day...debating Turbo vs NA and which is better. I've been non both sides...We could talk about FWD, RWD and AWD; and I've driven them all. So deciding to sell my B5 platform Audi A4 to obtain my true love the BMW e46 was one decision that I have not regretted and if asked again, I would do it again at the "drop of a hat."

Modding a car is something that takes time, but as you add piece by piece there is something that is absolutely gratifying about creating something completely unique. So, after my first order of business which entailed adding the LED angel eyes with the remote fade feature I decided to add a bit of color...I colored the inside flash/high beam lights in yellow. I know that this was primarily a French feature found on many cars and one may ask, "Why would you do something like that to a German car?" ...Easy,  it looks good!

...I'm not even done as I'm posting this I have already thought about changing the headlight lens completely to yellow.

DRIVEN/maison martin margiela belt jacket

SEE/femme

I bought the last of the Margiela for H&M pieces I wanted the other day...I know what I'm about to say may sound crazy, but it's the truth... While there was a mad scramble all over the country for these Maison Martin Margiela pieces for H&M, here in Denver it was business as usual. It was so calm here you could just walk in walk straight up to anything you wanted and purchase it without even a tussle.

These shots were taken inside my new toy! I have been a fan of BMW's since my youth and I have no greater love for any other car than this. Once you drive one, you understand why it's, "The ultimate driving machine." I let go of my Audi A4 as I had to follow my heart and my heart beats Bayerische Motoren Werke AG.

I was inspired by that movie "Drive, " which is a must see if you haven't already! The cinematography, the music, absolute perfection.
