ALL USED UP/marc jacobs button down

So, there are some great neon signs in our neighborhood and I spent one night taking a few pictures of the signs that lined the street from old motels, music venues and car lots ...they are such relics of the past. I mean, everywhere we go now it's all about LED lighting or some kind of outdoor screen allowing businesses to play customized videos to advertise their goods. I'm not one to complain, and I'm one to fantasize of a modern city looking like some kind of dystopian future found in Ridley Scott's Bladerunner with images of attractive women advertising products and the obligatory product placement of Coke...I have to admit I'm more of a Pepsi person if I had to choose.

Every night I stare out of my bedroom window and see this used cars sign. I love the way it looks, there's just something about it. It's amazing...not to mention it happens to be on the old car lot once belonging to Amanda's father!

COLD WAR ERA/russian military hat

I found this hat in a vintage store and couldn't pass up the chance to own such a cool piece of history. This isn't your typical store find...This is an authentic Soviet Ushanka and it even has something written in Russian along with the date of 1984!  Every time I wear it I feel as though the cold war is still on!

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE/hugo boss orange label

Here's a few pieces that I was unsure of...Well, actually one I was unsure of and the other was misplaced for a while. I the firefighter uniform jacket was found at a yard sale.  This is the first time that I tried it on and really liked it. It's been sitting in my closet for almost a year...waiting for the right time to make an appearance and here's its 15 minutes of fame! The hat was a gift from Amanda when she went to Russia, which is awesome! I have always wanted to go to Russia...and I will make it there one day. It would be really cool to be able to Dj out in St. Petersberg one day! So if you're reading this Russia, just let me know when and I'll be there!

Hang out with Dollhouse Vacancy and this is what happens...Sweet little headband hoarder...whatever! Just for the record I like my 3 hats and I am not jealous of not having a room full of headbands...could you see me in one? I'd look like a newborn bald baby with bow on their head. Is it really serving a purpose? My favorite hat is this Russian one. This isn't one of those surplus store finds here; this is from a Boss Unlimited, an awesome vintage store here in Denver. I'm sure this hat has a story to tell as it has the date of 1984 stamped in it along with some writing. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what it says. The other two hats are by Brixton and Desigual. The Desigual fedora was a freebie for going on a shopping spree in the store on a trip to Barcelona...Score!!
