So, there are some great neon signs in our neighborhood and I spent one night taking a few pictures of the signs that lined the street from old motels, music venues and car lots ...they are such relics of the past. I mean, everywhere we go now it's all about LED lighting or some kind of outdoor screen allowing businesses to play customized videos to advertise their goods. I'm not one to complain, and I'm one to fantasize of a modern city looking like some kind of dystopian future found in Ridley Scott's Bladerunner with images of attractive women advertising products and the obligatory product placement of Coke...I have to admit I'm more of a Pepsi person if I had to choose.

Every night I stare out of my bedroom window and see this used cars sign. I love the way it looks, there's just something about it. It's amazing...not to mention it happens to be on the old car lot once belonging to Amanda's father!

I still can't get enough of these Avelon pop jeans...dressed up, dressed down, it doesn't matter they still look good. I fell asleep in them the other day, so I woke up looking good! I don't wear this wasitcoat very often, but it's a great one! I bought it in Paris and Amanda thought I had to add it to my wardrobe as it was very Mcqueen...and she was right! 

These Carrera sunglasses are my new accessory of the season...and yes, I fell asleep wearing them as well.

Can you think of any better way to combat this summer heat than by wearing a ballistic sytle vest, a scarf and a snap back hat?  I can't, but it sure does look good...sometimes you just have to deal with it.

I made an observation today about my wardrobe... it's not summer friendly. It's a closet full of jackets, blazers, denim, sweaters, boots and anything else that screams, 'This is not for summer fool!' Oh well, I guess I just wasn't meant to live on a beach or any other place that has over 75 degree weather...It goes without saying, it comes to no surprise as to why I would purchase a Demobaza scarf that should be delivered this week... I'm still trying to figure out how I'll be able to pull that off in August.

I just received these denim pants from a recent online shopping spree. I love the rough, raw feeling and the dirty bleached treatment is amazing! See that dark tunnel in the shot? ...that's the manifestation of the long standing feud between me, glitter and sequins. Let's just say we don't see 'eye to eye.'

I bought this brightly colored denim about a month ago at H&M on our Eastern European trip...Typically, bright colors aren't my thing, although I do have a soft spot for neon green...but that's just because my bike happens to be Kawasaki green. I bought these pants and didn't think of how I might style them...I just loved that they were so loud. I guess I was trying something a bit out of character for me. So, I bring you denim in bright blue, but a little roughed up with a touch of military.

I've coveted these Rick Owens boots for a very long time. I saw countless pictures of people everywhere flaunting the fact that they had them and I didn't...I was determined to not let this be another McQueen situation. Just to jog your memory a bit, I still want the Alexander McQueen visor from F/W 12. I was just always a bit late to get one and when I did have the opportunity, I hesitated and missed out on an amazing opportunity...Since then I have vowed never again! So, after months of wanting, waiting and fate having a good day, the chance to own these amazing boots was presented in all their glory! This time, I would be the victor!

I'm not one for jewelry... in fact, until recently (the last few years). This is all new to me and the funny thing is, I'm wearing all that I own in this pic! I'm not into really into rings as I've owned a few and each was lucky to stay on my finger longer than a day before ending up in a box never to be seen again.  But, I have taken an interest in some of those double finger rings... and I will admit that I'm really into cuffs...now that's something that I could wear all the time!

You won't find me in gold...just not really a fan, but Lovebullet's Bullet Bracelet is the closet thing to gold I'll ever get!

I saw this Life is a Joke tee by Eleven Paris in a store window on our recent trip to Vienna...I had to have it! I don't know what it is...I guess you can call me a sucker for anything Kate Moss! 

I'm also loving Replay Vintage and these new sunglasses are no exception! Ski goggles as sunglasses...I'll take those, thank you!

Although I feel like an interactive billboard for h&m with this outfit, I love this top hat. I have always wanted one and I could never really find one that I liked...until this one appeared on a recent shopping trip. With no tags, this great piece was hanging on a rack as if it was meant for me to find it! 

You don't have to be the Mad Hatter or even a stuffy sophisticated socialite to wear a top hat...and please don't be one that will only wear a top hat to a wedding (no offense if you happen to be one that has). Dressed up or down, a top hat is a must-have accessory. Next time I'll let my nerd flag fly and strap some goggles on for a steam-punk look.

3D DIGITAL/maison martin margiela belt jacket

Grab your 3D glasses because this post will be as though I'm right there with you! Each shot is in IMAX 3D...actually, I'm joking, but if you do have some old retro red and blue 3D glasses and I am in 3D, let me know. I just wanted to add a cool effect to these pics. 

It's really been getting cold here and I thought that I could be just as cool as Rodarte by playing with knits and leather to stay warm. I like the unconventional mix of materials as those Rodarte sisters are brilliant! 

Considering the world didn't end on the 21st, I suppose we should all begin to prepare ourselves for 2013...where the heck did 2012 go? I have plans for 2013, so bring it on!

If you have been reading the blog then you know that I found this military jacket on my recent trip to Iceland...It's funny, I travel all the way to Iceland and find a vintage jacket from the Valley Forge Military Academy. After replacing a few missing buttons this jacket happens to be a great find! I really like the red stitching detail along the sleeves, epaulettes, collar and the arrows along the back. The details are subtle, yet amazing!

I like garages...There's something so dark and brooding with them. I like the cold cement walls and the florescent lighting. It creates a mood that for some reason I can never get enough of. Sure maybe shooting pics in one falls in the "Been there, done that," category...but, for me I could do it all day long and still find something just so awe inspiring.

If you haven't seen the Maison Martin Margeila for H&M collection yet...then why are you reading this?! You need to go there now and check it out!  Sure, it's a rehash of past collections, but for this to be brought to H&M with such amazing detail and craftsmanship is absolutely amazing! 

So, I'm sure you are wondering what I bought? I have opted for something a bit different...it's a garment bag from the collection worn as a scarf. Complete with all the numbers counting down to the release of the collection. Now, if I could just get that belt jacket...things would be complete.

I found this military jacket in a really great store called Kassetta on our recent trip to Iceland. It's like it was meant to be...I traveled all the way to Iceland to buy a vintage jacket from The Valley Forge Military Academy.

And how cool is this skull tee?! Can you really go wrong with a skull?...actually, I'm pretty sure there's a skull gone wrong out there. But, if you are in Iceland definitely check out Suzie Q found around the corner from Kaffibarinn.
