SETTLER/couture colonial coat

 

I found this coat in a boutique when Amanda and I took a trip to Sante Fe during an extended holiday weekend...actually, I believe it was Memorial Day weekend years ago. I have always wanted a colonial coat so when I saw it I had to have it...Actually, the transaction went more like this; I tried it on, liked the way it fit, then put it back on the rack and debated whether or not I need it. Well, the rest you know because here it is now. The funny thing is that I don't wear it much, not sure why because when I do I always think about how great it is!

Lately I have been thinking a lot about classics...or just what the word vintage is. I think it's due to my latest obsession, which happens to be working on my bike. I think a lot about what I want it to look like and it was fun finally getting it back on the road. She's not 100%, but she's close. So here is a new set that I've posted on Mixcloud. I wanted to go back to some old tracks that were staples back in the day...Sure the late 90's may not be back in the day, but it does seem like long ago. So, here's to you 98.1FM and Baby D! If you're just joining for the first time, I will fill you in on the vision I have for my Kawasaki zx6r. I love the old cafe racers, but I also love the rockets of today. I want to take the best of each and create something in between. I plan on striping my bike down and giving it the looks of a cafe bike, but the heart and handling of a rocket...and this brings me to this awesome Lucky Strike motorcycle jacket. I thought with my image of vintage styling I would pay my respects to one of the greatest Moto GP riders, Kevin Schwantz. I know its not true to the standard white/red leathers that he wore during his rivalry with Wayne Rainy, but neither will my bike be to the cafe racers of yesterday.

I love these glasses that were found during a recent trip to NYC. They remind me of the Maison Martin Margiela L'incognito sunglasses. I feel like Jayden in Heavy Rain wearing the Augmented Reality Glasses he uses during his crime scene investigations. The holster wallet was discovered at Patricia Field in NYC as well. I have wanted one of these for a long time and finally, I have it!
