PARIS/round 1

So was it love at first sight? No, it wasn't. Was it just like the movies? No! Hollywood you owe me money for all the times you made me fall in love with the idea of being in love with Paris! I'll get back to you on the amount, but I'll settle for a Burberryshearling jacket and Ann Demeulemeester boots. Now, back to my experience; I wanted to walk along the left bank with a baguette under my arm, drink wine at a cafe and walk in the rain, because according to Midnight in Paris, that's when Paris is most beautiful. Well, I was able to get a baguette, but I wasn't along the left bank... I was at a metro stop by the Catacombs. I did drink wine at many cafes, but it didn't rain once...So, is Paris beautiful? It's more beautiful than I imagined. I'm glad we spent as much time there as we did... there's so much to see.

I will say that going back to Europe just makes me miss it even more. I spent a lot of time in Germany when I was younger; I grew up there, but not born there. So, when someone asks where I'm from and everyone else is able to just name one place. I'm the one in the group that has to take a deep breath...and then begin.

Amanda described Paris the best when she said, "Paris is like New York." She's right, it is...tons of people walking with a purpose, everyone eats out, beautiful stores, amazing food (I'm never going to eat another club sandwich unless I'm in Paris). Perhaps that gives an idea of just how great the food is. Sure, I had escargot, the foie gras and tartar, but one of the last nights I had something as simple as a club sandwich and a beer and it was amazing!

So, I leave you with pics of a few of my favorite things from Paris...Round 1.
