I know it's been a while since my last post, but after a recent, amazing and most influential trip to Japan, I can only say that I have been overwhelmed by the feeling of being drunk on inspiration. So, I'm back and here to bring you on a trip through my crazy and twisted world...you may want to hold on, this may be a bumpy yet very fun ride.

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING/neoprene vest diy

When I saw the neoprene vest by Mugler (see pic above)...I had to have it! But, then I thought to myself...do I really need it, is it something that I truly needed? Well, of course! Then I thought...wait a minute, I can actually make this myself, I do have experience (see sinister-collection.net). For those of you joining me for the first time, Amanda and I design under the label "Sinister." But, there is one big difference here...we are in the womenswear department and now I will try my hand at menswear. So, without further adieu I present my neoprene vest project!

It's about that time of the year when I take that last ride before filling the gas tank with Sea Form and placing the battery on a tender only to fill the air with the low hum of electricity and provide the battery with a steady stream of nutrients while awaiting the world around me to unthaw. 

I know...she's old, the bike that is, but she's mine and I can't bring myself to replace her. She even bares the scars of the tough times we've been through. Although temperamental at times, she is still true to me. So I keep her and each time I pull back the choke, turn the ignition key and press the starter and the loud roar of the engine rings in my ears I still smile like it was the first time we met. 

Remember, safety first kids...although, you don't see it in the pics, I do wear a helmet whenever I ride.

Want a glimpse into my world...well, here it is! This is what is going on when I'm behind the wheel of my car. I see everything like this no matter what I do...and this is just a small piece I decided to share. So, keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times..now let's go!

So, there are some great neon signs in our neighborhood and I spent one night taking a few pictures of the signs that lined the street from old motels, music venues and car lots ...they are such relics of the past. I mean, everywhere we go now it's all about LED lighting or some kind of outdoor screen allowing businesses to play customized videos to advertise their goods. I'm not one to complain, and I'm one to fantasize of a modern city looking like some kind of dystopian future found in Ridley Scott's Bladerunner with images of attractive women advertising products and the obligatory product placement of Coke...I have to admit I'm more of a Pepsi person if I had to choose.

Every night I stare out of my bedroom window and see this used cars sign. I love the way it looks, there's just something about it. It's amazing...not to mention it happens to be on the old car lot once belonging to Amanda's father!

THE DEATH OF DYSKO/mixcrate mix

So, as we head in a new direction with the blog...We, that being Amanda and myself have created our first posts based on metallic objects. You should really see Amanda's post, which can be found here... SEE/femme

I have decided to take a different approach to the metallic subject matter...If you have placed your seat in the upright position, then prepare yourself for my thought process. Please make sure that you keep your feet and hands inside the ride at all times... So, as I couldn't see myself using the same poses found at Dollhouse Vacancy I thought, what am I to do? As I was completing a new set based on the musical progression of disco to what is now house music...now, prepare yourself...disco equals disco ball, house music is now the new disco and has been for a while. Disco ball equals shiny reflective ball which in turn shows shiny images on the dance floor. These reflective images are displayed in the image of the new mix set (see above). So, now do you see how this image coincides with a metallic them? Good!

Anyway, enjoy as you are now bound for a very interesting ride... Did I mention this is a free download?

I still can't get enough of these Avelon pop jeans...dressed up, dressed down, it doesn't matter they still look good. I fell asleep in them the other day, so I woke up looking good! I don't wear this wasitcoat very often, but it's a great one! I bought it in Paris and Amanda thought I had to add it to my wardrobe as it was very Mcqueen...and she was right! 

These Carrera sunglasses are my new accessory of the season...and yes, I fell asleep wearing them as well.

By the way, my Demobaza scarf arrived today. Although, it's far too hot to break that out just yet...but, there is a cold front moving so maybe I can get away with it.

Can you think of any better way to combat this summer heat than by wearing a ballistic sytle vest, a scarf and a snap back hat?  I can't, but it sure does look good...sometimes you just have to deal with it.

I made an observation today about my wardrobe... it's not summer friendly. It's a closet full of jackets, blazers, denim, sweaters, boots and anything else that screams, 'This is not for summer fool!' Oh well, I guess I just wasn't meant to live on a beach or any other place that has over 75 degree weather...It goes without saying, it comes to no surprise as to why I would purchase a Demobaza scarf that should be delivered this week... I'm still trying to figure out how I'll be able to pull that off in August.

I know it's been a while since I last posted, but I promise I'll be better going forward. It's been so hot lately you don't want to do anything. The heat just wipes you out and steals any energy you may have had. 

This upcoming week is going to be a good one! I have some new items on the way and I'm hoping they will be here before the end of the week. I'll be sharing a great DIY as I have changed a few things with my e46 BMW and I am also working on a few new sets that I'll post soon. So, even though I haven't been around, I'm still keeping busy to share some new things. So stay tuned...

I just received these denim pants from a recent online shopping spree. I love the rough, raw feeling and the dirty bleached treatment is amazing!
